Two folks had been confirmed unnecessary after a ship accident in the Ikorodu location of Lagos Deliver.
Permanent Secretary of the Lagos Deliver Emergency Administration Company (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed the incident in an announcement on Wednesday July 6.
He acknowledged the emergency responders also rescued 15 passengers on board the boat that sunk due to a mechanical fault.
The commentary read;
“The Lion squad of the company spoke back to the above incident in the present day 6th of July 2022.
“On arrival, it was came all the plot thru that a 20-passenger ferry boat carrying 17 passengers named “R & N 2” had capsized due to a suspected mechanical fault and was submerged following its departure from the Ipakodo ferry terminal.
“A blended team of water guards, the search and rescue team of the Lagos Deliver Waterways Authority (LASWA) and LASEMA responders had been mobilised to the scene of the incident, main to the rescue of 15 persons alive.
“Two adult feminine passengers had been retrieved unconscious and had been transferred to the closest hospital for treatment. They unfortunately by no manner regained consciousness and had been later declared unnecessary.”
The LASEMA boss acknowledged that the boat captain is being investigated by the connected authorities whereas LASWA has begun a probe into the just in the support of the accident.
